Live Your Legacy
Live Your Legacy is a conversational podcast that explores how life’s defining moments shape the legacy we leave behind. Hosted by Patricia D. Freudenberg, also known as Patty from New York, the show features thoughtful conversations with entrepreneurs, authors, leaders, and creators who have turned adversity, reinvention, or unexpected life transitions into purpose-driven work. Through these conversations, the show examines an often overlooked truth: the grief that transforms us is not always the grief of death. Often, it is the grief we experience within life.

And with that being said, I want to welcome our special guest, Ladonna McLamore, also known as Lady of Truth. Lady of Truth, welcome, welcome, welcome to the wonderful space here. I've known you for a minute. But for those of you who may be meeting you for the first time, tell us a little bit more about who you are and the work you feel called to do in this world.
SPEAKER_01Hello, you guys. I'm Ladonna Booker MacLear, known as Lady of Truth, which is actually the meaning of my name. Lady means Ladonna means the lady. I ran from the call. Sometimes you run for something because you didn't have the validation within yourself. But I know that is my life mission to show humanity and to assist humanity to go through that paradigm shift where the kingdom come, his will be done on earth through I am, through us. And so I had to go through a transformation and the elevating purpose. It started with poetry and then it turned into a culture system, and it just keep growing and it keeps growing. And guess what? It will outlive me, but it will be in the earth.
SPEAKER_00Oh well, let's get into it. Your name platform, Lady of Truth, carries a powerful message. Uh, what does living the truth mean to you? And how did that identity become part of your journey?
SPEAKER_01To know thyself, acceptance, no the greving process, no more bartering, um, no more sabotaging, acceptance. Acceptance is what got me there and still is keep it's um it's the catalyst of everything that's moving for me. The acceptance. Acceptance is the the energy of the essence of who you are, the the authenticity of who you are, and so that's why I'm all right.
SPEAKER_00I thought you were gonna I thought we were gonna keep going. We have a little bit of about you here. Uh you do a lot. So let's get into what you do. Uh, you are a visionary behind elevating purpose. I would like to talk a little bit more about that, your platform. Uh, what inspired you to create this movement and what was happening in your life when that vision first became clear?
SPEAKER_01Oh, well, you know, I gotta laugh. Yeah, I had questions here today. Um, laughter is medicine to the heart and soul. So it started as poetry, me finding liberation with myself and elevating myself to I wanted to join different organizations, and it was like if your house is falling apart, your temple, your temple, your temple is falling apart, then how can you be a help to anybody else? You have to take care of yourself first. There we go back to acceptance. I guess I'm coming back uh around to acceptance, but I had to start dealing with um my memory, the muscle memory of my brain, and that's when elevating purpose starts shifting what I was going through. My sister, my twin sister passed passed away, and I was going through a divorce of 17 years.
SPEAKER_00That's what I was going through, and I hired when that teach you sorry to interject there, but what did that teach you? Because I know you went through a lot.
SPEAKER_01I went to therapy for two years.
SPEAKER_00Good. A therapist is necessary a lot of times. I myself for years.
SPEAKER_01I hired a life coach who didn't do the work for me, they just gave me different tools to follow, and then here come elevating purpose, the power of our spoken words, and I start looking up the etymology of these words. What does uh uh going from out of the English language, uh teaching myself Hebrew, teaching myself Hebrew, Latin, and digging into the the word for what it really is, even to going back to hieroglyphs sometimes. So elevating purpose is actually me on the floor crying. That first book, I was on the floor crying. Elevating purpose was putting me in a position, the mirror, to look at that. I know, to look at I was born in the ghetto, which you want to call it, the hood, but I was not a product. That is not a product, that is something systematic, and it had nothing to do with me, but it turned out to be the greatest thing for me because if you're at the bottom, what can you do except for elevate? Elevate and accept and stop hating, accepting love, that's one of my other names. Accepting love. I was giving love to everybody, but I wasn't accepting me and I wasn't giving love to myself, so therefore, how could I help elevate my children and then my children? My I have two sets of children. I have some grown on, grown, grown children, then I have the little children, and I wanted to be able to be a benchmark for all of them that no matter what, change is possible, and I'm the proof.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Uh, we got some viewers coming in here. Uh Shalom, shalom, my dear friend Bella, who has an amazing show. I got to uh be uh a co-host one time. Uh it was really amazing. Uh, she uh check her out, Bella Biz, uh but the big supporter. Thank you so much, Bella. Thank you for joining here today. Uh and and and you know, lady, you're you're really passionate. So we're gonna keep talking about it. I just want to give a little shout out to all the the live viewers here, and uh thank you so much. Uh, this is your first book you were talking about before, and I put up a quote there. Let's go back uh and and get and give this quote. Where did where did you where'd this come from? Okay, where'd this come from and where can we find this quote? Where come tell talk to us?
SPEAKER_01It came from the breath of life. What it came from I am uh so 2019. I wanted to learn how to do t-shirts, so I had to learn how to source products from China, I had to learn how to talk that business language, and it was the entrepreneurship of my business being incorporated in 2019, and so I had to learn different languages. I had to do get out of comfort zone, and I was a crybaby, I was a crybaby, and so giving up is not an option, it just popped, it popped up. I know where it came from.
SPEAKER_00Who do you who do you serve? Who do you serve? If somebody, if somebody sees you on social media, who who who do you serve? The creator, the creator of the universe, I know and who's your who who would come to you, who would come to you though, to for your products or services? Uh who would who would be the recipient for this book? Uh who who would you recommend this to? A person that is blank, a person that is what suicidal.
SPEAKER_01It's big. A person that's suicidal, a person that's dealing with a lot of um mental illness, trauma, rejection, all those bottom vibrations, all those low frequencies, or we call it bitter root judgments, um, students. It touched uh women, men, it ministries, religions, religions is gonna touch all religions.
SPEAKER_00So yeah. So a lot of these um poetries, um, they're they're really, I mean, poetry itself is is amazing, right? Uh, and and they've come from a place of truth. Um, a place of truth. I don't know that you said your name, Ladonna also means truth, but did you um create your pen name? Because that's your pen name now, Lady of Truth. People know you as Lady of Truth. Um, do these poems have anything to do with your pen name?
SPEAKER_01Of course, of course, of course it does. Yes, it does indeed. I have been on a quest since I was a teenager to find out what my name meant in love. So, those is the two things that I kept correlating everything in life. What does my name mean? What does ladonna mean? It means the lady in Latin. But what I discovered a week ago, my name, Ladonna, means lady in every language I said. Wow, the name, the variation does not change in truth. Truth got put on in my 20s when I started dealing with the truth of who I am, that I'm God's mouthpiece. I was embarrassed that I believed in God, the creator of the universe. I didn't want people to know that, and so I tell the unadulterated truth. I've been like that my whole life. I feel on myself, so therefore I was alone on you. I harnessed truth, it's embedded in the essence when God said, Let there be light. The truth was part of the essence and the soil that created me.
SPEAKER_00That was good. I rang the bell for that one. Um, you know, it's it's an awakening, right? It's an awakening, it's a true awakening. Uh, I'm gonna get to another question here. Uh, in creativity and healing, since we're on this, on this, uh, you know, on this in this lane, uh, you combine spoken word, writing, and coaching in your work. How has creativity become a tool for healing and personal transformation in your own life? So, as you're doing it as a profession now, how is how is this helping you?
SPEAKER_01So, when I was had to be about 26, my first divorce, I went to entrepreneurial school and I wanted to learn about entrepreneur. It was like bottom level, but I I did it and I succeeded going through the divorce, right? And this lady, let me show you something. Like, I got my book right here. You see that flower right there? So it started off with me just doodling on paper, and this lady first of all, could we see that flower again?
SPEAKER_00I mean, seriously, that's that's your work right there.
SPEAKER_01That's freestyle that paint behind me, too, on the wall.
SPEAKER_00That's freestyle, yeah. Wow, so you were like tracing over something, like that's amazing. Still good work.
SPEAKER_01I heal through drawing, and so when I was creating the coaching system, that's the power of how we could heal through spiritual art therapy. So I found out that art therapy is something that's real. So I put art therapy into what I'm doing, even with that drawing. You see, that that that flower, I learned how to take that and put it on fabric and design my own fabric too. So I saw all these gifts. I have multiplicity of gifts, and I could show people there'd be like she could do everything, even with my hair. I did my own hair, I could do so many things artistically. So it went from the the poetry, and then it went to the drawing, and then it went, of course, the singing, the rapping. Oh my goodness the food, the food, the ship, the culinary, the food.
SPEAKER_00Well, tell us a little bit more about uh I was gonna that was gonna be my next uh line of questions, but since you're mentioning it, let's just get right into it. Uh, you know, for for the sake of time, tell us a little bit more about solvent food, tell us about your food journey. I know you shared with me on Clubhouse, but I don't want to spill the beans.
SPEAKER_01Hey, I want to do this. It started 20, I'm gonna say 18 when I stopped eating pork and chitlins and all that type of nasty stuff. That's nasty to me, sorry. When I stopped it with pork, and then it went to I stopped eating different things, but it really started in Moshe. How old is Moshe? My son to be 14. So 15 years ago is when it shifted when I started learning um about the Hebrew Israelites, when I started learning about the culture, because I study a lot of different religions, and I love that because I love all of God's people, and I don't like how division separates us. However, when I started learning about the food law and Deuteronomy, that's when the used to be in the grocery store reading everything on every level. It took some hours to go grocery shopping. I'm a pro at it now, and then it went from to I got sick a couple years ago. My body started rejecting the foods that I was eating, and then I started having allergic reactions that was not uh it wasn't manifesting where the doctors could see it, where it was suffocating me, and and it was my locking my throat cut. I was gonna go through a lot of stuff, still dealing with some of those things, but it's the food.
SPEAKER_00Was there a silver lining to that though?
SPEAKER_01It's poison.
SPEAKER_00Was there a silver lining to that awakening?
SPEAKER_01I started making like flour from scratch from chickpeas. That was one of the awakening chickpeas. That's impressive. I had to learn how to bake with no yeast, no surprising, but with fruit, grain fruit. So that's how it starts snowballing. I would take pictures because I love to, you know, the presentation of things. So I start taking pictures and writing down the ingredients, not knowing that that was a setup, the silver lining, right, for the cookbook to come forth, which I'm working on. So solving food is uh um it's dedicated to nourishing the body. And let me tell you how you could pull correlate the power of spoken words with the poetry and the food. You'll never think that poetry and food is a caduent of one another, they correlate with one another because when we eat real foods, it causes the vocal cords to vibrate, and it heals on a cellular level. We could heal, we could heal our temples by eating real food, and so that's when the farming started to come in place. And I have someone that I'm networking because I want to get it straight from the garden to the table, and you have your own garden that you shared with.
SPEAKER_00I just want to shout out to some love that they're sending you. Uh, and we got um your friend here. Um, you know, silver lining is knowledge of what foods and vegetables are, and we also are have some so proud of you, Lady of Truth. We got some messages for you here. Um, that leads up to the next question. Uh, your work blends spiritual awareness with personal growth. How does spiritual insight help someone discover and realign with their purpose?
SPEAKER_01And it goes back to acceptance. When you accept who you are, you don't run from who you are, you trust in I am. I didn't make myself a holistic by name or gave myself the titles, it was all divine by me hearing God for myself. Stop listening to that voice at the bottom. We could call it the double, the ego, low frequency, negativity, or you could start listening to your higher self, which is I am, is God, it's the He's many names, right? I looked up God's name in every language, too, right? God has multiplicity of names. So, and then I got a brain for where was I? Where was I?
SPEAKER_00You're talking about purpose, you were talking about aligning with purpose. So let's open the book.
SPEAKER_01So, did you know on that book that those drawings I drew those? So, when you elevating your purpose, meaning me tapping into my gifts, sharing it with the world, then you receive the strings of promises. So that came from me accepting love, accepting me and releasing the grievancy that was sitting on my respiratory system that was causing my own white blood cells to attack me. The doctors couldn't even tell me this. I discovered this, and that's part of my purpose. How do I know all this stuff? And I went to no, I went to school, but it was for performing us. How did I learn all of this?
SPEAKER_00Because they came from knowing I am, but now with this information, um, you are now helping others, right? You're coming from a place of experience and knowing, which is you know, that's priceless, right? Uh just going back to that book, going back to your your second book uh with the drawings. I know you you also you you talked about grievance, um, and I know you also you know highlighted your sister. Um can you talk about that?
SPEAKER_01Okay, let me pull out her picture right quick. So this is my twin. You guys get the book so y'all can see her up close. My twin was the first poet, she did poetry, she was a nurse, so it runs in the family evidently because I have a lot of people in my family nursing, everybody, the females. So, my twin, she I watched her heal a lot of people, especially when she was a wound nurse. I watched her heal wounds as big as my head or my hand, but she could not heal the grievances within herself.
SPEAKER_00So that was a transformation for you, then recognizing that, and so I dedicated the book to her, and it's centered around abuse.
SPEAKER_01I didn't know that I was in abuse and an abusive marriage because I wasn't physically hit, and he was kind to me, but it was his abuse because I turned around and started verbally taking the power of his mouth and verbally emasculating my one of my brothers, yeah, and so I had to deal with myself, I had to be accountable that I was in the wrong posture as a woman. That I'm giving yourself right, I had to see that I was in survival mode and that I was not operating in my divine sovereignty, which I am now operating in it, and it's the best thing. And that's what's causing the cells to heal. And then I found out we got like 40, it's something 40, I'm gonna just make up a number, but close to it about 48.3 trillion cells in our bodies that is dormant. But when we when we draw dance. Sing, ring them bells, vibrations, the frequencies, the hurts, it stimulates the brain waves, it stimulates the cells to become awakened. And this is science. That's where neuroscience came into play a couple years ago. It's science. No one taught me all these things, but I am. That's the purpose.
SPEAKER_00And now you teach it. So again, we're gonna go to your website in a minute, but I just want to um ask you this question. I I love this question. Uh, let's see where we go with this one. Uh, what is something about your journey that most people would be surprised to learn?
SPEAKER_01But I did not go to school and have learned all this stuff in the past 26 years. I have been studying, that's one of my gifts. And another thing, I was borderline, illiterate, and couldn't read, I couldn't read and write very well.
SPEAKER_00And when I was a couple of books later, a couple books later, and also you had mentioned, and you had mentioned also that you have created lesson plans as well. So that's that's that's a that's a big that's a big secret. That's a big secret, you know.
SPEAKER_01A school, so everything that I'm doing is gonna turn into a spiritual art therapy school to heal humanity through the arts.
SPEAKER_00Okay, that's fair enough. Let's go to your website. I want people to see the website. I'm gonna share the screen right here. I'm gonna add this right here, and this is your website. Uh, you know, this is um great. And now, if you follow our show, you'll you'll see the links. Otherwise, you know, go to go to the Instagram page, it's right there. Elevating purpose coaching. Elevating purpose coaching, or or direct message me and I'll lead you the right way. Uh, we got your website here. Let me just go over to it and just scroll down a little bit. So I know you're constantly, you know, um work in progress, right? This is a beautiful website. This is uh more of like a health journey, right? Um and uh here we go beyond our culinary offering solvent foods, aspires to be your guide on your journey to holistic health. Uh, and she really dives deep. So if you want to have a conversation with Lady of Truth and you scroll down, um, I know you're uh under construction with the Facebook, so don't go to this Facebook right now. It's under construction. Uh go to the IG instead that we shared here on the, you'll see it up there on the board. Uh, but consultations. Uh, you you're you're you're you give complimentary consultations if somebody's taking it seriously, you'll get on a call for 20 minutes or so and see where they're at. And I know you have mentioned that you will create a food plan for them, right? Besides an encouraging word. You want to speak a little bit more about that?
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I what I discovered when I start making chickpeas is the it's a it's a joke on the it's a joke in my house because my children was laughing like mama trying to make us eat chickpeas and making flour, and here we go years later, and they're happy, they don't complain about it no more. But what I discovered is that I have to meet the client where they are, they cannot just start eating the way that I eat because you could shock your body and you could die, and that's just you can research it, you could die and shock your body because your body is so used to um the fake food or the you know, the I don't even know what to call it. I'm trying to select my words properly, right?
SPEAKER_00It's okay.
SPEAKER_01I create meal plans and with the meal and meal preps. So with the meal planning, I'm gonna show a person, say for instance, you have high blood pressure, I'm gonna create you a meal plan for high blood pressure, and I'm gonna put the herbal teas in there, the affirmations, because yes, we need affirmations, that's the power of spoken word. I do affirmations too as well, because affirmations we're gonna deal with the renewing of the mind. God said to renew the mind, but no one ever told me how to renew the mind. How do you want to eat different? And your mind is still stuck, your subconscious is keep bringing back, go get that donut. Tell me about it. So we have to renew our neural pathways with new information, so affirmations come with it, and my disclaimer comes with it as well. And I will give you t-shirts as complimentary gifts. I give t-shirts out to people too as well, just to encourage them with an affirmation, affirmative, and so and then with the meal prep, people would say it's expensive to eat healthy when you know how to prep properly, it's not.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's not as expensive to go it's as going to the doctor to fix everything you did because of how you eat, right? You don't look at it that way, you're actually saving money at the end. Uh, you know, you you have shared with me on Clubhouse and uh come come to Clubhouse, everybody. You'll you'll we could continue the conversation there. Clubhouse is a great place where you network and learn and grow, and it's free. Uh, that's the best part. But you shared a lot with the community about um, oh you know, you know a lot about spices, so you're not just putting food together for people, food plan, you're you're doing it intentionally, like you just mentioned the turmeric. If somebody has high blood pressure, and yeah, you may not be a doctor, you're being holistic, you're holistic, uh, but you know your spices. So I don't know if you want to talk a little bit more about that, lean in.
SPEAKER_01Well, it it it all like you say, the gift was always there, but because of the grievancy and growing up in the hood, and uh my mom, both of my parents were you know subjected to the crack era. They it man, so but yeah, and still my mom taught us how to do a garden when we were younger, and my mom was an awesome cook, and I sat in that kitchen is multiple. Somebody got a lot of pictures in my family of me sitting at the table. I stayed in the kitchen and I watched her cook constantly, constantly, constantly, constantly, and I love to eat. So one day I was walking down the street and I literally saw in blue sacred geometry numbers of me putting together all these different recipes. I had no eyes say what is going on, but I literally saw that in my eyes' mind, and then I start cooking, but cooking actually on this level made me address my habits that were not good.
SPEAKER_00Because you had lost a lot of weight, you said not to not to you know interrupt again, but I don't want you to, I feel like that's something that you're not really sharing, and you know, as you're as you're revamping your website, as you you know, we all are always you know upgrading. I think that's something really important because you know, people people like you know, I they they how why would they use you, right? Well, there's a a million a million people that are creating food plants. Why lady? Well, you lost a significant amount of weight. Could you share about that a little bit?
SPEAKER_01Um having children close to my I was close to 40 and had two sons. I was 200 pounds, took me six years to get it off. So I started walking, walking, low impact cardio. I started walking like a mile, and the person I was married to at the time, he supported me. I always been um athletic, I could still double dutch, I could still do a lot of things. I told my kids I still could do a headstand, you guys. I could get on top of my head, I could do a headstand, I could do a lot of things, throw football. But the reason why a person would follow me because I never stopped working out since I been here. And I lost the 200 pounds. Well, not the 200 pounds, I lost over a hundred because I'm like 132 now. 132.
SPEAKER_00That's great.
SPEAKER_01I when I got sick, I lost a little bit of weight, but I gained it back once I started this this program that I'm on that I created that I feel like God gave to me a special program that nobody else can um, they can't mimic it, they can't do anything because this is what God gave me, and my authenticity is on it, my anointing is on it, my oil is on it, me almost dying is on it, so no one can take it, only I can own it, only I can own it. So I lost a lot of weight. Then I made I started making. Oh, I forgot about the uh organic beauty products. So I do have to save that for another, we'll have to save that for another show, but go ahead. So I learned that uh certain things that you eat that is holistic, you could put that stuff and make skincare and products in. That's why I'm gonna be looking at this age. I turned 50 two weeks ago, and I feel like I'm looking real, real good.
SPEAKER_00Seriously, seriously, and this is why somebody who's looking for like you know, a plan that is really uh, you know, a unique plan to you. It's not just one size fits all. This is a customized plan. I I recommend you book a call with Lady. If you want inspiration, especially in mental wellness and you're having days that you know might feel heavy, get your book, get your book or books. Um, you know, we we are going to share. Hold on, let me just share this. Um, you know, hold on, let me just share this. I want to share the other on Amazon. This way you get a visual uh share screen. And here we go. I'm gonna go on Amazon and check out your books here on Amazon and right here. It's uh highlighted it, elevating purpose. You could just put elevating purpose series, and these are the books, and I believe they're also available on Kindle. I believe um right now it's not showing that, yeah, available on Kindle. I mean, come on, um,$3.99 on Kindle. Um, get it and support, if anything. Um, you know, because it's really it's really amazing, it's very inspirational. You're a person that gives back. We're gonna close it up with this one last question. Uh, when you hear the word live your legacy, um, or just legacy, what does that mean to you personally? And I know, again, big questions, but you know, what's on your heart and mind?
SPEAKER_01To live your legacy. It makes me think about when I found your room on Clubhouse, and I never I can't I've been re being re being rock and rolling with each other ever since then. But it was I had to be accountable about what legacy I was gonna leave. Was I gonna leave the legacy of giving up, or was I gonna leave the leave the legacy that change is possible and I'm the proof? So that's the that's that's what it means to me. My children are seeing transformation right before the eyes every moment, and that's the legacy that I will leave with them in the earth.
SPEAKER_00It's beautiful, it's very touching. Nice way to close it up. Uh, we got some love here. Um, again, uh, you you must know yourself first to help others when you're ready to receive healing. Thank you for that comment. And we got Bella saying, great conversations, lady. Thank you so much for that one. And let's just share right here the the bird's eye view here of uh on Amazon Elevating Purpose Series. Uh, it's available on Kindle, it's available on you know, book version, and um check it out. You know, it's it's really great stuff. Again, book book a consultation, a complimentary consultation if you want to start a new plan that's you know suited just for you. Uh, I highly, highly recommend. Thank you all for being here. Ladonna, before we get out of here and we thank everybody, I want to ask you, um, give us a closing remark. You know what to put you on the spot.
SPEAKER_01You know that two of them. I got two of them. Um, you know, sometimes it's always tattooed poetry. Stay focused, or the locusts would choke you out of your purpose and know that the work is worth it. The work is worth it, baby.
SPEAKER_00That's right. Again, thank you for being a special guest here in this new uh show, Live Your Legacy. Uh, we are pop-ups, so if you want to learn more, check it out, check it out, and uh let's get things rolling and going. And at the end of the day, you be you, boo.
